1978 Ducati 900 SS ~ SOLD ~

Engine # 08762X ~ Frame # DM860SS 08729X
Miles = 8110

This is a fully restored 1978 Ducati 900 Super Sport with only 8110 miles.

It was originally sold through GHOST MOTORCYCLES in 1978 (Long Island, New York). It appears to be a 1977 model and was purchased by it's current owner in 2012. The total restoration was started 2013 with the motor being completed in late 2015. No miles were put on the bike once completed although the motor was run in for approximately a half hour before installing it back in the freshly painted chassis. Whomever buys this would be advised to put a few more heat cycles on the motor then re-torque everything as per normal. Restoration was completed in 2017. It has sat in the owner's office since that time and not been ridden.

  • All the components on the bike were removed.

  • Motor sent to Rene Waters (Ducati Meccanica) for a complete and total rebuild including all new bearings.

  • Dellorto carbs were rebuilt with all now components & all new cables installed.

  • Frame was stripped and repainted.

  • All bodywork repainted to perfection including; tank, fairing, both fenders and side panels.

  • All metal parts were cleaned, refinished and/or replaced.

  • Brakes rebuilt, new SS lines installed.

  • All rubber bits replaced.

  • Shocks restored & rebuilt.

  • Wheels rebuilt with new SS spokes, new bearings, new tubes & tires.

  • Original Borrani 4777 rims were lightly polished.

  • New chain & sprockets.

  • Electrical gone through and wires/terminals replaced as needed etc.

  • Rear tail light and bracket updated from CEV9350 type to Euro spec Aprilia unit.

This bike is ready to go riding and enjoy it like it was meant to be enjoyed. As you can see it is absolutely stunning and looks as-new. An extensive list of everything found once the motor was opened up along with everything done to the motor will be provided to buyer along with all receipts of all parts purchased and of all work accomplished. There is also an extensive write-up provided by the engine builder regarding this motor and work needed and done. No expense was spared on this bike and as you can see, it is absolutely beautiful.
