I restored this bike in
2004 and have ridden it several thousand miles since restoration. This is a
pre-Mark III model but the engine has been brought up to Mark III specs with
a 5 speed bottom end. The original 4 speed bottom end is included with the
sale and the serial number matches the clear title. All surfaces have been
carefully restored. There has been no blasting of aluminum parts, all have
been cleaned and polished as original. This bike has won many awards
including best European Bike at Rocker Box, one of the largest vintage bike
festivals in the Midwest.
Cylinder head ported to
match 40mm intake valve, 34mm exhaust valve (don't remember the size for
sure) and SSI 27 carb.
Mark III cam and piston.
Front brake relined with
Ferodo linings and shoes turned per vintagebrake.com
5 cell NimH battery, no
acid. Disconnect through tool box door.
Correct seven rib brake
Correct painted spokes
Borrani WM1 and WM2
rims. Correct pattern Chin Shen tires.
Good kickstart gears with
Seat carcass and cover
Correct "stiletto" clutch
and brake levers. Very cool and not PC.
Engine has been rebuilt
with all new bearings, seals, piston, valves and guides, etc. I have not
ridden it in 4 years but squirted some gas in the carb and it fired right
up. It always started easily (without choke, there is no cable connected at
present). The tank is clean and dry. The engine doesn't leak oil. Feel
free to display indoors but it would be more fun to ride it!
Title states 1964 but
this is quite common in our area. I will assist on shipping anywhere. I
have shipped two bikes to Australia with no problems. I'll crate and
deliver for actual costs to me, no additional fees. I can often find a new
motorcycle crate to use for shipping. Bike is located in Milwaukee, WI. I
can deliver within 100 miles, no charge.
I'm selling because I'm
going sailing. Won't fit on the boat!
