1980 Ducati SSD900 Darmah
This is a 1980 Ducati bevel drive SSD 900 "Super Sport Desmo
Darmah".
This bike has been well cared for buy it's previous owners and we have records
to that effect that will move along with the bike to it's new owner. Bodywork
has been repainted, new windscreen & seat cover, cables, wheel bearings, chain &
sprockets replaced, carbs rebuilt, WORKS shocks & fork spring kit w/fork
rebuild, Bevel Heaven hydraulic clutch conversion kit installed, brakes rebuilt,
Tommaselli DAYTONA throttle, Tommaselli starter/RUN/OFF switch, Malossi spun
alloy velocity stacks
etc etc etc. Oh, somewhere along the line the PHM 40s were changed to the
standard PHF32CD/CS carbs for Darmah along with required cables and intake
manifolds along with BUB mufflers. A few years ago I changed the pickup wires with my FEP
harness kit as well. It presents itself very well as you can see in these photos.
There are only 18,689 miles on this well preserved Ducati.
It starts right up and runs well, pulls hard. Hi/Low beams, running & brake
lights along with the horn works and the brakes stop it. This bike is in great
shape & ready to find a new home.

Details:
This motorcycle was brought to Bevel Heaven a couple weeks ago to be
re-commissioned & made ready to sell. Work accomplished by Bevel Heaven include; de-rust
inside of gas tank with METAL RESCUE, install new fuel taps, Cavis Benz fuel
hose & clamps, clean & adjust Dellorto carbs & synchronize. Replace labyrinth breather
gasket & crush washer at the base of the breather tower, install new AGM battery, also replaced side cover
grommets. We did a general cleanup and sorted/organized wires/cables to tidy
things up a bit as well.
Carbs are dialed in and fully synchronized so it starts at the 1st stab of the
starter button and idles/runs well. Brakes, lights, & horn works etc. There are
no turn signals in the front so we couldn't test. This was a re-commission
project, not a restoration ie we wanted to make sure it ran and things worked as
expected for the new owner. There will be other things that will/might need
attention ie; R&R both tires & tubes etc... That
said, the bike is now road worthy and I went out on a brief ride to go through
the gears, test brakes etc. The bike is currently registered non-op & titled in
the owner's name here in California so there will be zero surprises by the new
owner while doing a
title transfer & registering. For international buyers, it is ready for export
without a hiccup with it's current documentation.
The Ugly:
Tires and tubes have 2015 manuf date codes & sidewalls are cracked so these need
to be replaced before riding. New seat lock was installed at some point but needs the
locking arm shortened a bit so that it locks the seat down. Non original front
fender. No key for the steering lock.
