1975 Ducati 860
Runs a rides great.
Pre-electric start model. I bought the bike about 5 years ago
from a friend that had taken it apart to replace the swing arm
bushings and then never reassembled it. It sat in his garage for
10 years collecting dust before I got my hands on it. It's never
going to win a show but it's a fun bike that you can work on as
you go and still turn heads when you take it out for a ride.
The tank is a Syds fiberglass Sport tank and SS seat is a Syd's
as well. Tank Has been lined with Caswell. I bought the Imola
high pipes from an outfit in Australia. The pipes have baffles
so they are not crazy loud but not exactly quiet either. Terozzi
rear sets on home made mounting plates. Work done in the last
1500 miles includes rebuilt forks with Race-Tech emulators, new
Works Performance shocks with special valving specified by Bevel
Heaven, swing arm bushings, New front discs, braded SS brake
lines, Rebuilt Master Cylinder, New front caliper and brake
pads, Speedo drive and cable, tach cable.
There are areas that will need attention like;
Shift linkage is sloppy and it's sometimes difficult to hit
third gear the first time. I had planned on converting back to
right side shift at some point.
All the electrics work but the wiring is pretty terrible. The
fuse block needs replacing.
* There is a big slit right in the middle of the seat.
* The clutch drags when the engine is cold.
* Nicks and dings in the paint.
* Incorrect ignition switch.
* I have taken the bike on some local multi-day vintage bike tours (Moto
Melee, Nor-Cal-TT) and bike has always run flawlessly.
* I have a box with a few spare parts that goes with the bike. A pair of
original side covers, original side stand, aftermarket 2-1 pipe.
* California Title in my name, Reg. is currently on Non-Op.
* Bike is located in San Francisco Ca.
* Local Buyers are welcome to come check the bike out in person.
