1981 Ducati SD900 Darmah ~ SOLD

This is a 1981 SD900 Ducati Darmah project bike that needs to find a home with someone who will take the time and put it back together. I have had it for 20+ years and have not touched it since - no time! I purchased it along with several other bevel drives & a huge horde of parts back then from a collector in southern California. Everything he told me about all the other bikes purchased proved to be 100% true so I have no reason to believe anything different on this one.

He told me that this bike was one he rode around town and did long rides on. It has just over 18K miles on it. He decided to freshen up the motor and clean things up a bit. What you see here is what he got done before selling everything Ducati related he owned to me back then. The motor has been rebuilt and has zero miles on it since the rebuild. The chassis and wheels he powder coated yellow. The bodywork he painted red and yellow, maintaining the Darmah theme.

All the other bits and pieces he removed, boxed up and there everything has sat. Look at the photos.... He just unbolted the entire front brake system and put away. Same with the rear brake system. All the electrical he just removed from the chassis and put the whole enchilada into a box etc......

I just found a pair of intake manifolds and the correct PHF32CD/CS carbs for the bike to include with the purchase....

What I do not see are; the mufflers, stock headlight ears (there are some aftermarket ones you will see in the photo with the rear turn signals), front turn signals. There might be other things MIA, please study the photos carefully as everything shown is what you will get if you decide to purchase this bike.

If your plan is to purchase the bike and part it out, please don't bother calling me. I want someone to get it back together and get out there and enjoy it as it was meant to be ridden.

It would be best if you come here to collect this bike since it it really not "put together" for transport through a shipper. The 2nd to the last photo does show everything included in the sale that is packed up in the 2 boxes. Headlight, front fender and chain guard sitting on top. It's really not that much. If I need to bolt things together enough to ship plan on adding $250 to the overall cost. Buyer will be responsible for shipping costs of the bike as well as however many boxes everything else gets put into.

Terms of Sale:

~   Asking $6,500 USD if you pick it up  ~  If a shipper is going to pick it up then the price is $6750 and you cover all shipping costs

This bike is located in Concord, California just east of San Francisco & is offered to be sold "As Is / Where Is" with a clear California title & registration in my name. I have described the bike to the best of my knowledge. There is absolutely no warranty expressed or implied - its a 41 year old motorcycle and there is bound to be other things discovered over time once the bike starts to be ridden, like all bevel drives...

NOTE: Concord is a 45min drive from SFO airport or 1.25 hour BART ride from SFO.  If you choose to fly in to have a look, Steve can pick you up from the N. Concord/Martinez BART station and take you to it - by arrangement of course, then take you back to the BART station so you can fly back out easily.  After we work out a deal on the bike, Steve can arrange shipping for you.

What you see here are literally all the bits and pieces stacked up next to the bike so you can see it doesn't take up a whole bunch of room....
