Above: Bike is shown with the IMOLA tank
that was on the bike when I purchased it 20 years ago.

Above: This Ducati sure presents itself
very well.

Above: This is an alloy NCR style tank I
have put on the bike as I *know* that it doesn't leak etc. Both
tanks are included with the purchase.
1980 Ducati 900 SS
~ 1714 Miles From New ~
This is a Ducati that Bevel Heaven owner Steve Allen bought from
a collector about 20 years ago, rode it around a few times then
moth balled it to go into his collection. This bike has sat in
his office at the Bevel Heaven empire since. This super clean
900SS is a rare find in this condition and it is now ready to
go.
* You might remember this listed 4 months ago.... I could not find the title
so pulled the advert. Seems I never
transferred the title back when I bought it - oopsy! That has all been
sorted out now - I have the California title and registration
in my name cleared up so this can be exported anywhere on the
planet etc.
The bike shows only 1714 actual miles on the Smiths gauges. It
has the earlier 1977/78 Borrani RECORD 4777 rims. The front
fairing is painted silver along with all bodywork and frame to
mimic an early square case 750 Super Sport. An alloy NCR type tank is fitted
along with new silentblocs, new taps, new Cavis Benz hose and
satin spring clips. The fiberglass IMOLA tank shown above is
included with the purchase of this bike as well. Rear brake rotor is the small 259mm OD type,
fronts are normal 280mm OD type. Both Brembo master cylinders
and all 3 F08 calipers were rebuilt in February this year and
work great - no drag when you spin the wheels. The PHM 40 AS/AD
carbs were rebuilt with everything soft inside replaced at the
same time, intake manifold insulators replaced as well. Original
grey plastic Dellorto velocity stacks. New Tommaselli Daytona 2C
throttle and cables installed along with new Verlicchi grips and
bar end plugs. Clutch balls & rods removed, cleaned, lubed and
reinstalled along with a new clutch cable. Everything adjusted
correctly now and pulling the clutch lever is easy and smooth as
butter. The alternator wires at the voltage regulator were
damaged (as they always seem to be) so they got repaired as well
as a new fuse box installed.
The lead seal is still attached on the bottom of the motor,
albeit barely. Looking at the case under the chain, there are
barely any skuff marks and certainly no grooves in the case so
this as well as looking at all the electrical on the bike, it is
painfully obvious that this bike is in almost new condition and
there is no reason to doubt the claim of 1700 miles only on it.
This bike is ready to finish off how you want it to be - either
polish or paint the tank to match or seal up the fiberglass
IMOLA tank and use it... Install new tires &
battery, and off you go.

This bike is located in
Concord, California just east of San Francisco & is offered to
be sold "As Is / Where Is" with a
clear California title & registration in my name as the 2nd
owner of this bike. I have described the bike to the best of my
knowledge. It has been sitting in my warehouse for the past 2
decades. The work described above I personally did in February
2022.
This bike is very nice indeed and will be a
very easy project to finish up the way you want or just ride it
as is. That said, there is absolutely no warranty expressed or
implied - its a 42 year old motorcycle and there is bound to be
other things discovered over time once the bike starts to be
ridden, like all bevel drives...
