All original
parts like Radiale rims, front hub, seat, black headlight and
many other items go with the bike in case someone wished to
place it back to standard. The Taco is not connected because
have fitted a bevel gazer, this was mainly to be assured that
oil was flowing when the engine first started. The taco drive at
the engine also comes with the bike. Clip-ons have been fitted
as the bike came with 2 triple trees and 2 sets of ears, using
the shorter set of ears allows you to fit clip-ons.
The other
triple tree I have has the handle bar on the top, comes with the
bike. Engine rebuilt with all new bearings, seals, Clutch plates
and springs, barrel was honed and new rings fitted as it was
still standard and not worn. Crankshaft checked by a motorcycle
engineer for straightness and play, it was deemed to be perfect.
Head was reconditioned by the same firm, fitting new valves,
guides, springs and reseated. New wiring incorporating stop
light for the front brake as the lever for the 4 leading shoe
brake lever has a switch, this improves safety without
modification.
The engine was
assembled by myself, I am a toolmaker and run a restoration
company restoring scooters and Italian bikes, this is part of my
collection. My age of 77 years has forced me to sell all my
bikes, having sold a 900 SS, 750 round case Sport and 250 desmo
single over the last several years. This is my last Ducati, will
be sad to see it go, however would be good to see it on the road
ridden by a younger person. Lovely bike, a bit different but as
stated has not been modified in any way and original items go
with it.
