1981 Ducati SD900 Darmah
SOLD
A late model
Darmah, frame #925276, engine #906233 in Ducati's classic black
and gold color scheme. Ducati
built 683 Darmahs in 1981, of which only 40 were imported to the
US. I’ve
owned the bike since 1987, and this Darmah is a pristine example
with only 8,740 miles.
All service
work has been performed by Syd’s Cycles in St. Petersburg,
Florida and by the late and legendary Sid Biberman in Norfolk,
Virginia.
The bike is
stock, with original paint, original upholstery, original chrome
on the Silentiums.
Fresh battery, FPS
aluminum wheels, Michelin tires (M48 rear, M45 front), Silentium
silencers, Marzocchi front forks and Marzocchi air-adjustable
rear shocks. I’ve
made no modifications with the exception of upgrading to
stainless steel brake lines and Bosch high energy coils.
There is a
small spider on the tail piece gelcoat (see image), and the
handlebar lock hasn't worked as long as I've owned the bike.
The bike fires
right up and runs straight and strong, with a fantastic exhaust
note that can only be Ducati.
Ducatis of this era are their own art form; the bike turns heads
wherever you ride.
This is super
clean example of a very collectible bevel gear twin.
Sale includes
original owners manual, Beverly Hills custom cover, all service
records and assorted aftermarket manuals.
